The Store sells a range of staple foods loose and in bulk, as well as offering refills on cleaning liquids and shower products. Buying loose saves countless amounts of unnecessary plastic packaging from being manufactured, thrown away and going to landfill, as well as giving us an opportunity to reuse what we have and refill!

We are a vegan shop (with the exception of some local high-welfare honey and some beeswax wraps), so our fridges are full of delicious vegan food and drinks. We also sell flour, cereals, tea, coffee, etc., and we are always looking-out for new plastic-free stock items.

Scoop and Scales is a cooperative that opened a fill your own container / zero waste shop in Macclesfield in October 2020. As we grow, we hope that this space will be a hub for environmental activity in the town.

Loose will be continuing to offer its customers our full range of products during 'lockdown'. Customers are welcome to visit and we will be allowing 2 customers or small 'bubbles' in the shop at a time.
Weigh your empty container, fill it with whatever you need, repeat and bring to the till where we will weigh and price everything for you. Simple. If you prefer, order on line from home and we'll let you know when it's ready. we can deliver if you need us to.
We stock a full range of essentials, plus a few surprises, some locally made items, and an enjoyable and personal shopping experience.

We are a small, zero waste shop based in sunny Wareham, Dorset. We are on a mission to reduce our impact on the environment, and we, therefore, do not use any single-use plastic to package any products in-store. Instead, we encourage you to bring in your containers, to fill up with as much - or as little produce as you need, and simply pay for what you buy.
No paying for unnecessary packaging or buying more produce than you need. Bare Necessities is on the journey, with you, to improve the world we live in, one weekly shop at a time.
